This is a flat double-layer grid to cover the Southwest Valley Regional Swimming Pool of the Aqua Fria Union High School District and YMCA located in the city of Goodyear, Arizona. The architect was Emc2 Group Architects, Planners, PC. The Triodetic system was used for this spatial structure.

The construction cost was about $11.32 per square feet with a total budget of $290,000. Ten workers assembled and completed the construction of the spatial structure in approximately ten days. The Subassembly Erection Method , which is a combination of the Cantilever Method and Lift Slab Method , was used. Each of the two 100' by 128' segments of the structure was assembled piece-by-piece on the ground and was then hoisted by a crane and placed on the supporting steel columns.

The structure has a square-on-square offset double-layer grid configuration with a total upper layer plan dimensions of 200' by 128'. The module sizes are 8'-2" by 8'-2" with a structural depth of 6'-5". The structural members are made of round steel tubes with a thickness of 0.148" with different outside diameters. The top layer is made of 2.5" and 3.5" diameter tubes, the bottom layer from 2.5" and 2.875" tubes, and the bracings from 2.5" tubes.

A metal decking is used on part of the upper layer of the structure. The structure is supported at the bottom layer by fourteen columns in the longitudinal direction (eight columns along one edge and six along the other edge) with spans of 24', 32', and 40' in the longitudinal direction and 112' span in the transverse direction. The columns are made of 16" diameter round steel tubes with 0.5" thickness and a height of 15'-10". They have pyramid capitals with a depth of 73.5" made of 4.5" diameter tubes.

All the Triodetic members are made of steel and connectors are made of aluminum. The roof structure includes square hollow structural sections (HSS2x2x3/16) purlins supporting the metal roof deck.
